Items Needed
williamston's wartime connectionThe Museum is launching an effort to refurbish its permanent "wartime memorabilia" exhibit cases. The exhibit area will be titled "Williamston's Wartime Connection - Honoring the Service of Williamston Residents in Time of War." It will feature our country's major conflicts from the Civil War to the present. With seed money from American Legion Post 296, a committee has been created to begin the process of inventorying what the Museum owns, what is needed and what other artifacts may be in the Williamston area.
The Museum is hoping area residents, relatives, neighbors etc. will consider lending photos (to scan) and donating wartime memorabilia (including Vietnam and rercent wars) to include in this new permanent exhibit. If enough funds can be raised, there is the possibility of interactive screen audiovisuals, telling veterans' stories "in their own words." If you have an item that might be appropriate for inclusion in the new exhibit, please contact Jane Johnson at 517-655-1030. |
